Do we have all 4 already represented on Oppo? I suspect yes, though I can't think of an FJ owner here.

The FJ is a legend but the Land Rover is the only one I’ve ever had 1 st hand experience with.

I’m not sure if that one guy from Overland and Expedition is technically an OPPO, but I guess it’s a sister site.
Unless some magical being is reading this comment and would like to donate an FJ40 to me just to be sure.

Well I think it’s crystal clear that the M/T trucks *should* be Oppo owned, so it’s more of a repossession thing

I really need to clean my garage and get my Series IIa back on the road...
Edit: Also I just went through the photos and they complain about the tire being on the bonnet, but there is a tire carrier on the door too... The tire is on the hood only because they want it there as it looks cool lol.

I remember someone recently mentioning their Scout, but I can’t think who it was.

Someone just sold one in the last day or two. But I think there is still one here.
Can’t think of an OG Bronco on here either, now that I think about it.

In counterpoint, long term storage of the tire on the back door on bad roads
can cause the hinges to self destruct and the bottom of the door to sag out like a fat man’s belly. The most preferred spot for my Granddad’s one was on the bulkhead mount behind the seat, where I have mine.

Yep, thought of you right away on the Landy, and knew there were others.
It’s the Bronco and FJ I can’t quite place, but suspect they’re around here somewhere...

Also, I’ve been looking over the Toylander plans. The plans as presented allow for not just a working gas pedal a la powerwheels, but a working brake and handbrake. Oo la la.
The scale appears to be approximately 40%. The seat cheats on the real seat position a little, which means the 109 five door I plan to pervert the plans into will be a little weirder still.
The plans are supposed to be used to build just one, but that’s crazy talk and I’ll be telling them so. “Want I should buy four more plan manuals as ‘licences”? I sure as fuck ain’t doing just one”.
No reason to cheat them, surely, but neither is there a reason not to go ham building stateside Oompa Loompa scale Solihull.

I mean, that’s kind of ridiculous if anything they should just sell you more parts and not force you to buy another manual... That would be the better business move.

Assume for the sake of argument I’m a madlad who isn’t buying any parts at all from them other than the manual because there’s an ocean in the way, and assume for more argument that I’m seeing visions of shriner-parade-like gaggles of five or more because it’s as easy to make six or seven sets of the mechanicals as one, and vacuforming would solve the difficulties of repeat routing required for the dash and tailgate and side panel detail s and profile and the back boards...
Assume further that with such a powerful tool in my hands, I might even do something so stupid as make roofs, because clear plastic can be formed easily and I’d need four “mostly flat” patterns...
With all those assumptions, going Full Retard with building more than one from the plans starts to go from spitting in the face of “please build just one okay” all the way to spitting in the mouth. Figuratively speaking.

But seriously, does seem somewhat
shitty to build as many as you want just with those plans. Maybe buy a couple more as a “meeting halfway” type thing?

Whilst I would love to have a 2a or 3 again, I recognise that the farm ute (Nissan Patrol from the turn of the century) is not a world away from either of them!

Fun fact: the WOLF Land Rover is rumoured to be called so because of the mounting location of the spare ‘ W heel On Left Flank’ .
I believe this to be total bollocks considering it’s armoured peers are called Mastiff and Jacket. But still, my SIII will getting a second spare on the left flank of the roll cage because it looks neato.

Yeah, that’s kind of where I am. “Hey, if I’m going to build several of these, what do you want me to do, just buy four more sets of plans? Do you do volume licenses at all ”
I’m not proposing to be a dick and make them commercially, but building as many as I want to have with their body panel sets would be a bankrupting endeavor, and their body panels don’t quite match how I want to build, so working something out with them with the understanding that I didn’t have to build these things in the first place seems logical.
That’s part of this weekend. Smoking a metaphorical pipe, reviewing the best options for some of the parts and attendant modification, and maybe settling on a number of builds.
